Telecel opens 15 additional franchise shops

Telecel Zimbabwe has opened fifteen additional franchise stores in Zimbabwe as part of its retail footprint expansion initiative which is meant to meet growing customer service needs.

The mobile company has revealed that the retail expansion initiative, which begun last year with thirteen shops, has now added fifteen more shops across the country. Together with its own 24 shops, Telecel customers can now enjoy 52 fully fledged customer service centres spread across the whole country.

Telecash reduces tariffs to encourage plastic money use

Telecash, Telecel’s mobile money service, has announced a reduction in tariffs on the mobile financial platform. This is in line with recent efforts by authorities to encourage the use of electronic payments, mobile and plastic money to help ease the current cash shortage and improve financial inclusion.

The changes to the tariffs are across Telecash’s entire range of services and payment options, including cash-outs. The most notable and significant changes are the reduction of Telecash’s Gold debit card charges from a maximum of $2.95 down to only $0.45 while transactions of less than $2 are now free.

Telecel in national data network upgrade project

Telecel Zimbabwe has announced that it is in the process of upgrading its data network in order to improve the quality of its coverage and allow the mobile company to offer its customers more products and services.

The data upgrade project is already commenced and will see enhancements being carried out in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, Chinhoyi, Karoi and Masvingo. The upgrades which have already been started in Harare are expected to allow the mobile company to introduce exciting new products along with an improved data experience.

Two Telecel subscribers today (Thursday) were presented with the keys to two brand new houses after winning the remaining two houses out of the three houses in Telecel’s Win A House promotion which was offering three new houses as grand prizes.

Telecel rolls out 500 kiosks

Telecel Zimbabwe has announced that its retail expansion programme is on course after rolling out 500 kiosks.

Telecel’s Communications and Branding Director, Obert Mandimika, says the company is happy with the progress that has been made so far in increasing the company’s retail foot print to cater for their customers and increase convenience and accessibility of its products and services.

“Telecel’s retail expansion programme which started in early July this year with the deployment of kiosks and franchise shops has been a success. We are happy to announce that from the 200 kiosks we announced in mid-September we now have 500 kiosks and counting,” said Mr Mandimika.

Telecel introduces Telecash bundles

Telecel Zimbabwe has introduced Telecash bundles that allow subscribers to send money, cash out and pay bills at no charge once they have paid a once-off monthly fee of either $2.50 or $5.

The newly introduced Telecash bundles will allow subscribers to send money, cash out and pay bills at no charge for 25 days after having paid a flat bundle rate of either $2.50 or $5 depending on their individual preferences.
