Telecel launches telecash

Telecel today launched its electronic wallet service, telecash, which allows mobile phones to be used to send money to anyone with a mobile phone, regardless of network, and pay for groceries, bills, airtime and other goods and services.

Telecel subscribers can register for telecash at any Telecel office or with selected telecash agents or telecash ambassadors, who will be found roaming around the streets for the convenience of customers wishing to sign on for telecash.

Gerald Shamu from Mabelreign is the latest winner of a VW Polo in the Telecel Win Big Promo. A delighted Mr Shamu was presented with the car this (Tuesday) afternoon.

This was the second prize he has won in the promotion. Earlier in the month he won a Samsung Galaxy SII cellphone.

Stanford Nyikadzino, from Harare’s Waterfalls suburb, today (15 January) walked away with the first of the five brand new VW Polo vehicles being given away to winners in the Telecel Win Big Promotion.

Telecel achieves ISO 9001:2008 recertification

 

Telecel Zimbabwe was recertified for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems on September 28, the latest of a number of milestones in its provision of top quality services to its customers.

It was recertified by AfriCert, a Johannesburg-based company that provides ISO certification that is recognized worldwide. AfriCert is accredited by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS).

Telecel Zimbabwe has installed a new intelligent network management system that will enable it to provide its customers with more value added services.

Telecel Zimbabwe Chief Technical Officer Haitham Assal said the company embarked on the installation of the new system in April in a bid to increase its capacity to provide subscribers with new services.
